Customer Reviews about UAB University Hospital
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I went to the ER at UAB yesterday , in horrible agonizing pain . I have never felt such pain before on my left side /back. I was taken to a room fairly quick , within 30ish minutes . Weird thing is it only had three chairs in it, no strechers to lay on . I was in this room for 3.5 hours in horrible pain before anyone came to see me , I was talked down to as if my pain wasn’t real and told “other patients were in pain too” ( which I’m sure they were but why can’t you help us all!?! ) . I finally received fluids and some pain medicine , along with my blood being taken at the 4 hour mark, which by this time I was starting to feel less severe pain . I got a CT scan and was told I had three kidney stones , and then released to go home . This was my first time ever in an emergency room and it was a horrible experience . It’s clear to see I was hurting , throwing up and pallor but they took there sweet time to give me any relief. I will never go back to this hospital again .September 16, 2017by Les
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪If you want to know what is wrong with our healthcare you will find it here. After the insurance paying several hundred thousand dollars, they are now billing for telephone, television and other amenities. I don't think a trauma patient that is unconscious most of the time needs either and I know was never asked. I suppose they could put a birdbath and birds in the room they would bill for that also. They are milking everything they can from Blue Cross and trying to do the patient's the same way. I'm sure many medical bankruptcies have started at this facility and others like it. I do believe that ethics are nonexistent here. I will admit the care received while there was good. When you are discharged, that's when the corporate greed really kicks in. Good luckJune 14, 2017by Stan
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪The worst experience I’ve ever had at an ER. The staff was fine when we first arrived but i guess we asked them how much longer one too many times. Of course we have been here for over 9hrs so asking every three hours seemed exceptable to me. They keep telling us there are no rooms available, which I find hard to believe, but several of us sitting here have been here for 7-9hrs. Here goes 10hrs. Maybe they’ll see us some time this weekDecember 26, 2016by Corey
